(originally known as"Gammer" ) Dismass:
A very skilled, and completely useless oracle,
she was born gifted with second sight, but also
with a detatched retina in her mind's eye. This
means her mind is quite rarely in the same time
and place as her body. As she has gotten older
her wandering has gotten greater, so that now she
only seems to swing by her body every month or
so. Ask Old Mother a question today, she'll
answer it possibly a week before. Beryl Dismass: possibly
Old Mother Dismass' daughter, or even
granddaughter.
"Gammer"
Brevis: A common enough sort, repaired
her own shoes,and took snuff, but a bit overly
educated, "so that sometimes it overflowed
out of her mouth".
Letice Earwig:
"... always sounded like she'd learned her
witchcraft out of a not very imaginative
book." Very proper, very helpful, very good
at organization, very clean, and very, very
annoying. Married to a wizard (ex-wizard, they
don't marry) with a mysteriously large among of
gold, Letice seemed to have taken to witchcraft
as a sort of hobby. She also seemed to have this
idea she could run everything. Granny corrected
her on this point.
